Business Ethics & Compliance

Ethically correct behavior and transparency are important foundations of our work - this applies both internally to all our employees and externally to the cooperation with customers and service providers. We conduct our business ethically while complying with the laws and regulations that apply to our industry in each country in which we operate. Our Code of Conduct and Compliance Policy apply to all Amgen sites, subsidiaries and offices.

At Amgen, every employee has access to a variety of tools and information to help them do the right thing and act ethically. This includes our Code of Conduct, on which our employees receive annual training, our Compliance Policy and the Business Conduct Hotline, where employees can raise concerns, ask questions and get advice.

The most important aspects of our code of conduct and compliance guidelines

  • Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption: Amgen will not tolerate acts or attempts to improperly influence government officials or individuals to secure an improper advantage for Amgen's commercial interests.
  • Antitrust and Unfair Competition: Amgen does not tolerate any business transaction or activity that violates the antitrust and competition laws of the countries in which it operates.
  • Business Conduct, Reporting and Non-Retaliation: Amgen offers employees the opportunity, without retaliation or intimidation, to raise concerns about Amgen's business conduct and to report potential violations.
  • Conflict of Interest: Amgen employees have a responsibility to avoid situations in which personal interests, outside activities, financial interests or relationships conflict, or even appear to conflict, with the interests of the company.
  • Environment, Health and Safety: Amgen is committed to environmental, health and safety excellence.
  • Insider Trading: Amgen's insider trading policy applies to all employees at all Amgen sites, as well as their family members, household members, consultants, contract and temporary workers—even if the activities prohibited in the policy are not illegal in that country are.
  • Interactions with Healthcare Providers: Amgen requires that all interactions with healthcare providers and other customers comply with all applicable laws and meet the highest standards of professional ethics and accountability.
  • Harassment- and Discrimination-Free Workplace: Amgen will not tolerate harassment—by or toward employees, or by or toward those with whom Amgen has a business, official, or professional relationship.
  • Protection of personal data: Amgen is committed to the lawful handling of personal data collected, stored and used by the company. We respect privacy. Everyone in the company has a role to play in protecting and securing personal data. Any concerns related to a potential and/or actual personal data breach will be thoroughly investigated.
